Following the 2013 flood the Colorado Hazard Mapping Program (CHaMP) has been studying and remapping rivers to create new floodplain maps, which will replace FEMA's current FIRMs (Flood Insurance Rate Maps) by 2020 - 2021. Please take a look at the link below as it pertains to the following questions.
Before today were you aware of the floodplain remapping work?
Before today have you looked at the map to see the proposed changes to the floodplain?
Is the map understandable?
Follow these instructions for the map:
Do you feel the 2017 FEMA Floodplains map accurately reflects flood risk? (View by unchecking everything below "Flood" in the left hand menu except "2017 FEMA Floodplains". Legend to map is found in the menu icon to right of "Layers" at top of menu.)
Do you feel the Draft CHAMP map accurately reflects flood risk? (View by unchecking "2017 FEMA Floodplains" and checking "Draft CHAMP". Legend is in the same place as above.)
